We drove over to St. Paul to watch Ben play a basketball game.

Elizabeth spent her time creating interesting creatures and giving them unique-never-been-heard-before names.

Really enjoyed an adventuresome Sunday afternoon.

Took the dogs and four out of five kids on a Run? Jog! Walk.

Good soul food for this girl. They were troopers to. Tim said we logged somewhere close to 5 miles.

A couple days ago I asked Lizzy how she KNEW dad and I loved her.

She was a little flustered, I could tell she wanted to give a good answers but had a slow brain moment. I let her off of the hook.

Today she brought the question back up.

After giving several great Hallmark style answers she said this…

“And I know that you and dad love me because you kept me, I mean you didn’t give me to one of those places that are like the dog pound for people. What are they called again.”

One of the things that we seem to do as a tradition is take every ones height and weight measurements at the end of the year. (Thank God I am in charge of this occasion because I’m a Mama-don’t-do-no-public-weight-in kind of leader!) I love this little piece of wall in my house.

And in order from least to greatest here they are:

Bringing up the rear is our very own beautiful DeborskiShe grew a total of 1 1/8ths inches and gained 12 lbs. Will she be tall like Grandma Teri or short like Grandma Viola? Hummmm…we shall see.

Next up weighting in a whole 13 lbs heavier is…Our happy little shepherd boy, he grew 1 1/4 inches since last December.

The middle of the pack or in third place is….drum roll please:our not-so-little drummer boy (For real, thanks to a new set of drums sitting upstairs) He grew 1 3/4 inches and gained 11 lbs.

And having put on 10 plumping pounds, 2nd place goes to:Elizabeth Angel Girl! She grew a crazy 2 inches.

SO for a MILLION dollars worth of clean laundry and socks is our first place winner Ben”Jamin” (cleaned by his own million dollar hands of course)!!!He grew 2 and 3/4 inches and gained only 6lbs….and the crowd goes wild. AHHHHHH!!!!!

Carpooling kids to school, Chiropractor, Car shopping, carpooling kids to practice, Getting sucked into a new DVD that had penguins in it, Balance budget, Laundry, Couponing, Christmas Cards,Carpooling kids home, Christmas gift crafting, Pintrest, Cleaning, kids Christmas program, Trip to mall, Quick Christmas shopping trip, Dinner at Panda Express, New Sherlock Holmes movie with some great people, sleep, Clean bathroom, Christmas shopping with Mother-in-law, Re-balance budget, Liz Last basketball game of the season,Watch Liz make a Lay-up, Liz’s awards, Car pooling 2 kids to 2 different Christmas parties, Sis-in-law’s big 4o party, Enjoying my conversation at the Birthday party with Tricia’s parents pastor Pat and Gary…with catered dinner, Pick up kids from said parties, work on last minute Pinterest inspired Christmas gifts, sleep, Praise team practice, church with cool first-time violin special, Carpool kids home, Nice lunch date for my dad’s 60th Birthday. Stop for a newspaper for the coupon ads. Put on cozy sweats….NAP forever! (While Tim takes all the kids to finish up their Christmas shopping and He starts his own), make dinner, Drink tea, review all the pictures I have taken since I last blogged way back on September 15th, blog, procrastinate on wrapping all the gifts by turning on the ELF movie that I have never watched, that my kids keep laughing at the way I pronounce the title, I say it like the old TV show “ALF.”

Happy Birthday Dad…I couldn’t possibly love you more!

Looking forward to a slow day tomorrow with a trip to the chiropractor, a meeting, three kids practices during the day and a home tournament at night… GOOOOOOD TIMES!

Why’s & How comes…

WHY did I leave the lid off of the terrarium that has four frogs in it? Now there are NO frogs in it….here froggy froggy!

HOW COME every now and then I get phrases of speech stuck in my head? like: “To be honest with you.” and “honestly” and “to tell you the truth” I really am driving myself nuts over here. “you know what I mean”

WHY is it so much harder to read a teaching book that is good for me than a silly Louis L’Amour or other empty novel? I can read a novel for hours and a teaching book I can only choke down a chapter at a time on a good day.

HOW COME hugs from my teenage son mean more to me than they did when the same son wasn’t a teenager?

WHY don’t I listen to the Lord’s voice more often? “Honestly” He always makes me look good.

HOW COME we don’t go away on vacation more often?

School 2011-2012

I’m a little slow on the draw…this is last Tuesday. First day of school.

I was nice and awake on the way to school this morning…Ben was behind the wheel. He did great, but I was well aware of the ditch the whole time.

I wish I could say he scared a year off of my life since I’m going to post last years first day of school picture too. Ahhh here it is anyway.

Ben, Bugs and Cars

Ben’s 15th Birthday was this weekend. He had a few buddies over and stayed up alllllllll night then had a family Birthday party.
And like the good mother I am,

I had him bake his own cake….

(He is fifteen, life experience at this age is a good thing. Right?)

He has only one thing on his mind…can you guess what it is?

Hoping for a permit tomorrow…

NOT THIS!

And on a completely different note this country girl has found her limit when it comes to pets.

I can do lizards, snakes, birds, hermit crabs, fish, gerbils, frogs and many other creepy crawlers

but NOT THIS!!!!!

Tim brought it home from work in a TINY Tupperware container. I was trying to learn about it for the kids (who wanted to keep it) I shivered about a hundred times in 5 min. THAT is the closest I have ever come to “anxiety” issues.

Question for someone out there? Can it JUMP… it is right next to me at my computer. whhwhahahddhaaaa (shiver again) Done!

Tim WILL be taking it back to work tomorrow!
